Dress "Kovalykha" / Natalia Bazir for Mrii Marii

The embroidered dress "Kovalykha", created by designer Natalia Bazir in collaboration with Mrii Marii, is dedicated to the folk image of a young wife or daughter of a blacksmith. Although blacksmiths were traditionally men, who, due to their constant work with fire, were endowed with supernatural abilities by the folk imagination, the real sorceress in this story is the kovalikha, a sorceress who possesses the elements of fire and air and knows how to fan the fire of love and passion. The dress is decorated with "kolodochki" embroidery based on traditional Podillya embroidery, and natural linen gives the image lightness and at the same time a deep connection with folk tradition.

Linen, "kolodochki" embroidery based on Podillya embroidery, button fastening. Size: M-L.

Buying authentic handmade clothing from Ukraine means choosing a handmade wardrobe item with deep cultural and symbolic meaning, instead of mass production. This is a unique handmade gift for those who value the connection with folk tradition in a modern, wearable interpretation, and natural linen is pleasant to the body and suitable for the warm season.

The dress will be a special addition to the wardrobe for a photo shoot, holiday or festival in ethnic style, as well as a good gift for a woman with a passionate, fiery character. Together with the "Dolya" dress, these images by Natalia Bazir make up a beautiful series of female archetypes for the collection.

You can purchase this and other dresses from the Mrii Marii collection in the gallery salon at Andriyivskyi Uzviz, 30, Kyiv, or with delivery across Ukraine and abroad.
